House of Danar Hadi (abbreviated HDH) is an integrated tourist complex heritage of batik, which is located in the city of Solo in Central Java. HDH was established by the company from Solo batik Batik Danar Hadi PT in 2008 and specializes Batik and its cultural aspects as its main attractions.
History of the building.
HDH is located inside an ancient building complex which is the heritage, the main building in the HDH is Ndalem Wuryaningratan. This building was formerly the residence of a prince, a grandson of King Solo (Surakarta Kasunanan) Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwono son of Sri IX and X by the name of His Majesty Pakubuwono KRMTA Wuryaningrat. Apart from being a noble Prince Wuryaningrat also helping the struggle for independence by joining the movement Boedi Oetomo, Raden Wuryaningrat also served as chairman Parindra Party (Indonesia Raya) and member of the Solo BPUPKI. The building was built in the late 19th century with a unique architectural style which is a combination of Java-Europe at the time of duke palace Sosrodiningrat IV (Surakarta Kasunanan Prime Minister and father of Prince Wuryaningrat). Over time these buildings be abandoned and filled with grasses, and eventually bought PT Danar Hadi in 1999 and renovated. Now the building was converted into a multipurpose function hall.
Museum of Ancient Batik.
In addition there is also a Ndalem Wuryaningratan ancient batik museum called the Museum of Ancient Danar Hadi Batik. This museum is a major tourist attraction in the complex HDH and has opened first in 2002 by Vice President Megawati Sukarnoputri. The museum is a collection of batik cloth that reached 10.000 strands and is recognized by the MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) as a museum with the largest collection of batik. Batik fabrics are on display at the museum are from the period and the influence of culture and different environment. One of the most important collections in this museum is a collection of Dutch batik, batik is influenced by European culture and is made by the Dutch who settled in Indonesia in colonial times. Collection of these fabrics is the personal collection of H. Doellah Santosa, the founder of PT Batik Danar Hadi who is also the originator of the complex HDH. On the back of the Museum there is a batik factory complex and the cap that can be visited by tourists.
